Position: Assistant Vice President (AVP) - Business Finance - Private Equity/Venture Capital

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Business Finance to join our dynamic team in the private equity/venture capital industry. The AVP will play a crucial role in managing financial aspects of our investment portfolio and supporting strategic decision-making processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Analysis and Modeling: Conduct detailed financial analysis, including valuation modeling, financial forecasting, and scenario planning to evaluate potential investment opportunities. Provide recommendations based on comprehensive analysis.

2. Due Diligence: Perform due diligence on potential investment targets, reviewing financial statements, business plans, market trends, competitive landscape, and other relevant information. Identify risks and opportunities associated with potential investments.

3. Investment Portfolio Management: Monitor the performance of existing portfolio companies by analyzing financial statements, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting regular financial reviews, and identifying areas for improvement or growth.

4. Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and investors. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

5. Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop long-term strategic plans for the firm's investment activities. Provide insights on market trends, industry dynamics, and potential growth opportunities.

6. Investor Relations: Assist in managing relationships with existing investors by providing regular updates on investments' performance and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly.

7. Team Leadership: Supervise a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to drive their professional development while ensuring efficient workflow management.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred.

2. 15-19 years of experience in business finance or investment analysis within private equity or venture capital.

3. Strong knowledge of financial modeling techniques and valuation methodologies.

4. Proven track record in evaluating and executing investment opportunities.

5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

6. Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial markets, and regulatory frameworks.

7. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

8. Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing a team.

9. Proficient in MS Excel, financial modeling software, and other relevant tools.
